Walls are going up!

Exciting things are happening in Ibadan!

First, Praise the Lord! The floor has been poured and the walls have been started on the school building! Woohoo! Good progress has been made this week. We will keep working on the walls until we run out of supplies, but God keeps providing. Hallelujah!

Second, we were able to come to an agreement with the owner of the house next to our property and have rented it for the next year. We can hold classes here until our building reaches the point of usefulness. Hallelujah!

Third, we will do a school supply distribution at the end of August here in Ibadan. One of our supporting churches in MN raised funds with their VBS kids this summer and have supplied many items for students in Ibadan, Nigeria. Praise the Lord! We will be getting all those supplies together this next week in preparation for handing them out on August 27th and September 1st at two different locations.

Fourth, thank you to all those who have donated supplies for our vocational school and kitchen here in Nigeria! Many items have been dropped off for the benefit of these students. Thank you! We will continue to accept donations for another week or so and hope to ship the container at the end of the month.

Fifth, Toba and Laura have been blessed with opportunities to visit different churches the past few weeks. God has opened doors to speak at these churches, even without a formal plan, and many people have come forward interested in joining us as volunteers. Praise the Lord!

In the next two weeks we will be finalizing a lot of the plans for the school. Pray with us as we finalize teachers for these classes, set up a schedule of classes, set up the classroom, and finalize the curriculum. We have much to do, but God has been faithful through it all and we know it will be completed in God’s timing. We are also in the process of searching for an Academic Director to run the school, so pray God would send a great person to fill that roll!

To update you on our finances:

By July 7: $2,000 (step 2) – (flooring) MONEY RAISED! PRAISE THE LORD!!!

By July 14: $4,200 (steps 3 & 4) – (walls / pillars) MONEY RAISED! PRAISE THE LORD!

By July 28: $13,333 (step 5) – this is to pour the ceiling, our next goal.

By August 15: $12,666 (step 6) – doors, windows, electrical, plumbing, etc.

By September 1: $2000 (step 7) – fence and gate
