U.S. Banquet Update
We held a fundraising banquet in the U.S. on January 13th. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it! Many others shared a desire to join us, but were unable to make it this time. (And it was ridiculously cold, so we know that kept some people home too.)
It was a wonderful afternoon. We had around 40 people in attendance, enjoyed some jollof rice and chicken, learned more about the ministry, and shared the vision for the vocational school. We challenged people to help us build the school “block by block.” We need about 10,800 blocks to complete the ground floor. All expenses included, at today’ exchange rate, that’s about $2 per block. We had a little silent auction and were blessed with an unexpected “matching gift” to help us build more blocks for the school building. It was fabulous!
The proceeds from this banquet, with more gifts still arriving, has brought a total of about $3000 for the vocational school. God is so good!
Our prayer is that by February we will be able to begin laying the foundation, and continue to build as the funds are available.
Thank you once again for your support financially as we start building the vocational school. We ask everyone to pray for the children who will join our school as we prepare for them.
Blessings!
